Beth Cannon

Beth Cannon is a creative executive with over eighteen years of experience in the film and television industry.

She has worked with major studios, including DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, and Cartoon Network, developing award-winning animated content that resonates with audiences worldwide, and harnessing storytelling’s power to help us make meaning in our lives.

As a talented producer with expertise in both developing original properties as well as rebooting and reinventing classic IP, Beth has shepherded numerous critically acclaimed series. Her impressive portfolio includes the Emmy Award-winning Spirit Riding Free, the groundbreaking She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (nominated for Critics Choice, GLAAD Media, and NAACP Image Awards), the Kidscreen award-winning Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (10-time nominee including multiple Emmy and Annie nominations), the Emmy and Annie Award-nominated The Mighty Ones, and the Annie Award-nominated Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh.

A resourceful problem solver, Beth is goal-oriented and experienced in leading both creative and production teams. During her eight-year tenure as Vice President of Development at DreamWorks Animation, she directed a portfolio of up to 20 simultaneous projects and secured 10 series commitments from major streaming platforms including Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. She later served as Vice President of Current Series at Sony Pictures Animation, where she continued to elevate storytelling through animation.

Beth believes in finding silver linings in our ever-changing industry while emphasising passion, authenticity, and original voices. In 2024, she launched her production company, Cannonball Media, providing comprehensive consulting services to major studios, streaming platforms, and creators. Her expertise spans content development strategies, franchise building, market positioning, and connecting creative talent with promising projects.

Beth holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University, where she served as Chairwoman of Columbia Women in Film and Programmer for the Columbia University Film Festival. She is an active member of the Television Academy and Women in Animation. Beth lives in Los Angeles.
